Well, ain’t this somethin’. Talkin’ ’bout these fellas playin’ cricket. ARS and GSB, they call ’em. Don’t rightly know what it all means, but I’ll tell ya what I see. Sounds like they’re keepin’ score of who’s hittin’ what and runnin’ where.
Now, they got these stats, they call ’em. Numbers, you know? Like how many times a fella hits the ball and runs. Or how many times he catches it. Seems important to them. They got this ARS bunch and the GSB bunch. Playing in some place called Krefeld. Sounds fancy.

Then there’s this “Dream11 fantasy team.” What in tarnation is that? Guess it’s like pretendin’ you got your own team. Pickin’ who you think will do good, maybe? People do the strangest things.
They even talk about the “pitch report” and “weather report.” Guess it matters if it’s sunny or rainin’. And what the ground’s like. Too hard, too soft, who knows? But these fellas seem to care.
They played in somethin’ called “Match 3” and “Match 8” of somethin’ called “ECS.” Sounds like a big deal. All these letters and numbers. They say “Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground.” Must be where they play. Fancy name for a field, I reckon.
Probable playing 11, they say. Guess that’s who they think’s gonna play. Like pickin’ who’s gonna work in the garden today. You gotta choose the strong ones, the ones who know what they’re doin’.
They mention “squads” and “player records.” Guess everyone’s got a history. Like how many times they planted corn and how much they got. Cept these fellas are hittin’ balls and runnin’ around.
So, ARS and GSB. Two teams. Lots of numbers. Lots of watchin’. People makin’ guesses and keepin’ score. Don’t rightly understand it all, but it seems to keep folks busy. Guess that’s somethin’. Like knittin’ a big blanket. Lots of little stitches, all addin’ up to somethin’ bigger.
And they keep doin’ it. Year after year. Must be somethin’ to it, I reckon. All them fellas runnin’ and hittin’. Someone’s gotta win, someone’s gotta lose. Just like life, I guess.
