ECS T10 Vienna 2023: Everything You Need to Know.

Okay, so, I recently dove into this thing called ECS T10 Vienna, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a ride. I’d heard some buzz about it, something about a new edition of some ECS Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda. Sounds fancy, right? But honestly, I just wanted to see what the fuss was all about.

First off, I started digging around to find out what ECS even is. Turns out, it stands for Electronic Components and Systems. It is a big deal in Europe, apparently. I stumbled upon something called Xecs, which is like a part of this whole ECS thing, and they had this “Call 4” going on. I didn’t join, but it looked like a good opportunity for people in that field to get some recognition and stuff.

Then, I found out that there was this big meeting, the 247th ECS Meeting, happening on Dec 20, 2024. I thought about going for a second, you know, to mingle with the pros and students, maybe learn a thing or two. But then I realized it was way too far away from my place, so maybe another time.

I did manage to get my hands on the eighth edition of this ECS Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda – quite a mouthful, I know. They released it in December 2024, and they even presented it at some event called EFECS 2024. I skimmed through it, and it’s packed with all sorts of technical details about electronic components, innovation, and research. It is way over my head, to be honest.

Now, here’s where it gets a little interesting, or at least it did for me. There’s this thing called the European Coatings Show, or ECS 2025. It’s all about paints, coatings, adhesives, and sealants. Apparently, it happens every two years, and it’s a big deal for people who make additives and construction chemicals. They get to meet the “innovation leaders” and talk about the latest stuff in pigments and additives.

I also found an article mentioning that the show focused on sustainability, nanotechnology, and green coatings. I guess those are the hot topics in that world. They mentioned developers and process engineers being all excited about it. I am not gonna lie, it sounded kind of cool, but I am not sure if I’d fit in with all those industry folks.

So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with ECS T10 Vienna. I went in knowing nothing, poked around a bit, found some interesting stuff about research, meetings, and a big show about coatings. Did I become an expert? Absolutely not. But hey, I learned a few things, and it was a nice little distraction. Who knows, maybe next time I’ll actually go to one of these events and see what it’s like in person. But for now, I’m just happy I got a little glimpse into that world.

  • Started by researching what ECS is.
  • Found out about Xecs and its Call 4.
  • Learned about the 247th ECS Meeting in Dec 20, 2024.
  • Got the eighth edition of the ECS Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda.
  • Discovered the European Coatings Show (ECS 2025).
  • Read about the show’s focus on sustainability and nanotechnology.
  • Finished my exploration feeling a bit more informed but still an outsider.

That’s it, folks! Hope you enjoyed my little journey. Maybe it inspired you to check out some of this stuff yourself. Or not. Either way, it was fun to share!
