Okay, let me tell you about this little adventure I had at the Ramesh & Ramesh Sports Club. I’d been feeling like a couch potato lately, so I decided it was time to get off my butt and do something active. I’d heard about this place, Ramesh & Ramesh, that was supposed to have a bit of everything.

So, first off, I headed over to Janki Nagar in Indore. This place, Ramesh & Ramesh, is tucked away on Navlakha Rd. It’s not huge, but it’s got a decent vibe. I walked in and the first thing I noticed was the badminton courts. There were four of them, and some guys were playing a pretty intense game. I used to play a bit in college, so I watched them for a while, thinking maybe I’d give it a shot.

Then, I remembered seeing something online about them having squash. Now, I’ve never played squash in my life, but it always looked kind of cool. They didn’t have any squash courts, but the staff told me they offer coaching for it. They also mentioned they had volleyball coaching. That also made me a bit interested.

I wandered around a bit more. They had some info posted about fees and timings, and I even snapped a few photos of the place. The reviews online were mixed, some good, some not so good, but I always take those with a grain of salt. One thing I did find out is that they used to have table tennis but not anymore. That’s a bummer, I wouldn’t mind hitting a few balls.

I also noticed they had billiards. I’m terrible at billiards, but hey, maybe I could learn. They have coaching for that too, apparently. Decided, at that moment, to check everything out.

So here’s how it went down:

  • Badminton: I jumped into a game with a couple of guys. It was fun, a bit rusty, but I held my own. Definitely going back for more of that.
  • Squash: Talked to a coach, seems interesting. Maybe I will sign up for a few lessons later.
  • Volleyball: Watched a practice session, but I think I’ll stick to sports with rackets for now.
  • Billiards: Tried a few shots, still terrible, need to work on that!

All in all, it was a good day. I sweated, I laughed, and I discovered I’m even more out of shape than I thought. But that’s okay, it’s a start. Ramesh & Ramesh seems like a decent place to get active. It’s not fancy, but it’s got the basics, and the people are friendly enough. I’ll definitely be going back, at least for the badminton, and maybe I’ll even become a squash pro someday. Who knows?

My Final Thought

It’s not a bad spot if you’re in the Janki Nagar area and looking for something to do. Just don’t expect anything too fancy. It’s a simple, get-the-job-done kind of sports club. I’m planning on making this a regular thing. Maybe I’ll see some of you there!
